Art Comedia in Concert Review

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am so very sorry, I meant to get this review out over the weekend but here is my review of a local revue performed on Friday by the wonderful French duo Art Comedia and friends.

If you get a chance to see this fantastic duo, Veronique Martinez and Bertrand Larmet, I highly recommend it, they both are very charming, witty and extremely talented.

They were joined by the cast of some of Swallows and Amazons which they worked on at the Jersey Arts Centre last year, that unfortunately had its run cut short due to the pandemic.

The concert featured songs from Swallows and Amazons, as well as songs that the pair had specially selected to suit each performer that joined them. These included: God Help The Outcasts from Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Bring Him Home From Les Misérables. The duo themselves also performed a few numbers and joined in on some of their guest’s performances as well, which always ended up sounding absolutely magical.

Some of my favourite performances included They Just Keep Movin’ The Line from Smash, Bring Him Home from Les Misérables, Dying Ain’t So Bad from Bonnie and Clyde, You’ll Be Back from Hamilton and Children Will Listen from Into the Woods but ultimately the entire show was stunning and the only thing that I would have changed about it was to have it longer.

I can’t stress enough how much you need to see these two if you get the chance and I am so glad that the arts centre were able to partner with them back in 2013.
